Capital Area Asset Builders

Capital Area Asset Builders (CAAB) creates opportunities for people of all incomes to improve their financial management skills, increase their savings, and build wealth. We believe that a prosperous community is one in which everyone has incentives and opportunities to save for the future. DC Metropolitan Healthy Marriage and Relationships Coalition

Believing marriage enriches the lives of children and strengthens families, more than 35 community-based organizations work together to promote, train, strengthen, and restore healthy marriages through research; workshops on relationship building, parenting, and marriage preparation; and an educational curriculum for children, youth and adults. Dianne Hampton, President. (202) 464-1397.

LifeSTARTS Youth & Family Services

LifeSTARTS Youth & Family Services offers in-school, after-school, mentoring, marriage education, and other family-strengthening programs to over 5,000 youth and their families per year. The LifeSTARTS service area covers Wards 7 & 8 ("East of the River") in Washington, DC. LifeSTARTS intentionally reaches out to young people who others often turn away from.  LifeSTARTS staff make a “heart and mind” connection with even the toughest children because they have similar backgrounds to the youth served.  Visit www.lifestarts.org to learn more.

The National Center for Fathering

Believing that every child needs a dad they can count on; that children thrive when they have an involved father who loves them, knows them and guides them, NCF provides research-based training, practical tips and resources to help men be the involved fathers, grandfathers and father figures their children need. For more information visit www.fathers.com or call (800) 593-DADS.
