All Together Is Better programs are free. In addition, roundtrip transportation to each workshop and structured children's activities and homework assistance can be arranged in advance. A catered dinner is served during evening classes.
Marriage Education Workshops
Designed for romantically involved, engaged or married couples, these classes focus on how to create and maintain lasting, satisfying relationships with each other.
Basic Training is an 8-session workshop LifeSTARTS is offering to enhance the relationships and marriages of couples in Ward 7 & 8. The weekly Basic Training workshop is a video-based Black marriage education curriculum produced by Dr. Rozario Slack and Nisa Islam Muhammad. The curriculum may be used by couples in their own homes, but, for LifeSTARTS and Together is Better, Ms. Muhammad, herself, will offer the curriculum in a group setting.

Marriage Development Accounts (MDAs)
Engaged and married couples with combined earnings of $50,000 or less may be eligible to open a Marriage Development Account with Capital Area Asset Builders (CAAB) and receive a 3:1 match on up to $3,000 of personal savings, for a total of $12,000 that can be invested in higher education, a small business or a first home.
